This Is How we started.

History

Wendy Academy High School was started as a Pre-school in April, 1986, with classes Playgroup, Nursery & KG. Thereafter every year the subsequent next higher class kept opening until we reached class VIII. The school progressively grew into better stature and strength which necessitated the need of a more classrooms & a play field. A few years later we acquired a substantial sized adjacent plot of land, for our play field. This resulted in a sea change in the attitude and morale of the staff & the students. It enabled us to start building our various school teams at the junior level and also to bring out the sporting talents & capabilities of our students. In July 1994, the pre-school section of the school was shifted to exclusive nearby premises. This was done keeping in mind the overall personality growth of the little babies in our care, as by now they were beginning to get over shadowed in all spheres of scholastic activity by the old middle-school students, it also helped the staff to be more focused with respect to the two different age groups. Several extra and co- curricular activities were added on during the intervening years. Some annual events like concert, athletic meet & fetes have been successfully conducted, year in and year out. In April 2002, we got the affiliation from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi (ICSE), which enabled us to upgrade upto class X. The successful performance in terms of academics & infrastructural improvement at ICSE level, opened the doors for us to obtain ISC affiliation, which we were fortunate to get in April, 2005. And now we are a full fledged school upto class XII, offering both Science & Commerce streams to our students , as per the ICSE/ISC curriculum.

Mission and objective

Our goal is to ensure the holistic development of every child with the help of an extensive curriculum and dynamic teaching methodologies in a conducive environment. We believe in building an attitude of teamwork and interdependence among our students and staff. The objectives of the school are manifold. The main one being to impart quality education and to develop the all-round personalities of the children entrusted in our care. The school does not merely aim to make its products literate. It strives to impart sound moral, intellectual and physical education to its pupils so that they grow up into multidimensional personalities, who after passing out from the school, feel confident to face the challenges of life. The educational goal is to take the best from Indian culture and our rich heritage, adapt the best from school education systems in other countries to our need and evolve a pattern of all-round education, which will develop in its students the best in their minds, in their physique, in their personality, in their traits and in their social consciousness, so that the foundation is laid for what should eventually make him/her a good and true citizen of our country – India. Special emphasis is given to spiritual education and healthy respect for all religions, For this reason, various festivals are celebrated with equal fervor. The morning assembly being secular in content. The school strives to inculcate in the students a spirit of total secularity with no emphasis on any one religion and the fundamentals of the education philosophy of this school has been to inculcate in its students a spirit of social consciousness and service to its countrymen. Thus, the school aims at providing the children with a sound foundation of broad based education, in an atmosphere free from inhibitions and prejudices in order to promote their full physical, mental and moral development and to make them conscientious and responsible citizens, who are fully aware of their obligations to their fellow men and to society. The school is co-educational and is open to all without distinction of caste or creed.
